A new poll suggests that Donald Trump supporters in New Hampshire are ready to fight back against the establishment if it wants to “win” their state.
The poll released Monday by the Granite State’s Public Policy Polling suggests Trump supporters are ready for a fight against establishment Democrats if the Democrats in the state “win back” the governorship and state senate in 2018.
Trump supporters were most enthusiastic about supporting the Republican Party in the 2018 election when they were asked if they would vote for Trump if the Democrat were in power, while they were most opposed to the Democrats when they weren’t, the poll showed.
Trump backers were also more likely to support Senate Minority Leader Bill Gardner (R-CO) in 2018, while most Republicans were opposed.
The president-elect is also most popular with New Hampshire Republicans when he is running for reelection, according to the poll.
The survey of 2,500 registered New Hampshire voters was conducted by the Public Policy Forum from May 31-June 1 and has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
The polling institute also conducted the poll among likely voters.
