Wintry weather in northern Oregon, with snow falling in eastern and central parts

A winter storm has hit northern Oregon’s timberline region, including the city of Beaverton, and some areas in eastern Oregon are under an ice advisory.

Snow is expected to fall as high as 6 feet in Beaverton on Friday and Saturday.

Snowfall is expected in eastern Beaverton late Saturday and early Sunday.

Officials are warning people to avoid areas of high danger in the area.

Snowfall totals from Friday through Sunday are expected to be between 2 and 4 inches.

The snow will be heaviest along the north-central and western edge of the region.

Snow will be especially heavy in the central portion of the central Oregon ridge, where the snow will fall.
