The Warriors are out of the playoffs for the first time since 2008, but the momentum of the season is still with them, as they come out with a win in their last game against the Hawks.
The Warriors were up 23-21 with just over four minutes left on the clock when Mason Plumlee scored a buzzer-beater to give them a 41-34 lead with just under five minutes to go.
The Hawks responded with a three-point play from Mike Muscala and a pair of free throws to tie the game at 39.
The Warriors continued to run away with the game, going on a 6-0 run in the fourth quarter to take a 63-54 lead into the locker room.
The third quarter saw the Warriors hit a couple of threes and push the lead back to as much as 42 points.
That helped them tie the score at 48 with 3:37 left.
The Hawks responded to the Warriors comeback with a pair, but they couldn’t get much going in the half, as the Warriors kept pounding away.
The three-peat win streak has not been lost on the Hawks, who won the series three times, most recently in 2011.
This game will be a rematch of last year’s series.
The two teams will meet again on Jan. 9, 2019, in Atlanta.
