Now in a severe drought in many parts of the US, the Grand Lake Lodge is warning residents to stay away from its popular resort, Willows Lodge.
The resort, located on a remote stretch of the Willows River, has been closed for more than a month.
It was closed for six weeks in October due to the heatwave.
“It is just getting hotter and hotter and it is really affecting the water,” a Willows lodge spokesman told News24.
“There are many fish that have not been there for a long time.
It’s affecting the quality of the water.”
Grand Lake Lodge spokesman said the lodge would close for a month in order to allow fish to breed.
“We have to start treating the water, and the water is not good enough to drink yet,” he said.
“I think it’s a long way off but we will start treating it soon.”
Grand Lake has been a popular tourist destination since the 1800s.
The resort has been serving more than 10 million visitors a year since 1891.
Its famous waterfall is among the world’s most popular and the lodge is known for its hot tubs and swimming pools.
The Grand Lake is a popular destination for people looking for a night on the town with a view.
